Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a productive team of Farm Hands.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance appraisals.
- Promote continuous improvement and uphold company values.
- Monitor water systems and report irrigation issues.
- Maintain records of bore/pump usage and water levels.
- Inspect and repair irrigation lines and equipment.
- Perform general orchard or crop care, such as pruning and replanting.
- Assist with weed management and plant health monitoring.
- Enforce safety policies and proper PPE use.
- Train the team to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Safely operate and maintain machinery, reporting faults as needed.
- Seek productivity improvements and optimize resource use.
- Assist with employee management, training, and resource allocation.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by senior management.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and coaching skills.
- Experience in irrigation systems within a horticultural or cropping environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and adaptability in changing environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Solid organizational and time management abilities.
- Open driver's license.
