FIP Group is currently working with Queensland government to recruit a Project Engagement Advisor (6-month contract with a possible extension) based at Gold Coast.
  
In this role you will provide strategic community and stakeholder management services to technical and professional staff for community engagement, media relations, issues management, public affairs and stakeholder relationship management.
  
As a Project Engagement Advisor, you are expected to perform the below tasks:
  • Advice Project Directors, managers, and other staff in the areas of communication strategies for difficult stakeholders
  • Prepare communications materials such as media releases, ministerial briefings, newsletters, flyers, display materials and others for the project.
  • Develop strategies for stakeholder management.
  • Coordinate community and stakeholder engagement activities for road infrastructure projects in the region,
  • Provide support in the areas of media and issues management, crisis communications, risk assessment and reporting,
  • Develop, organize, and manage key communication activities such as road commissioning, launches, media opportunities and other events as required.
  • Provide training, advice and support to project staff and consultants to enhance communication skills and improve relationships with key stakeholders and community
  • Ensure operational practices and standards of service and performance comply with departmental and regional policies, legislation (incl. WH&S), and governance obligations.
Successful applicant MUST demonstrate the following:
  • Hold a Class C driver’s license with own vehicle to attend various sites, TMR offices and face to face meetings. (travel costs will not form part of the contract)
  • Willing to undergo employment screening (for example a criminal history check) as part of the selection process.
  • Hold a Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card) or have ability to obtain within six months of starting
  • PPE – Due to the site requirements of this position, the successful candidate must possess the following as a minimum:
- Safety boots
- 100% cotton long sleeved shirt
- 100% cotton long trouser
- Hard Hat with wide brim attachment
  
Other Requirements (Preferred but not mandatory)
  • A degree in communications, public relations or marketing or an equivalent years of work experience
  • Previous experience in dealing with difficult stakeholders and critical conversations.
  • Experience in major infrastructure project environments and social media competency
  • IAP2 or equivalent training in community engagement and public participation.
  • Knowledge of the infrastructure planning lifecycle
