Our client are an FMCG business, QLD owned and operated.  They are looking for a General Manager of People & Culture to lead strategy, change management and training & development – a leadership role with 3 direct reports and a team of 15.

As the successful candidate, you will have an operations mindset, resourcefulness, and a strong interest in people development, leadership, organizational management, and productivity.
 
Experience
  • 10+ years industry experience, 5+ years at management level
  • Clear and demonstrated understanding of employment legislation
  • Ability to think outside the square and identify opportunities
  • Experience in HR; managing a large workforce
  • Knowledge of WHS in Australia
  • Ability to passionately articulate business purpose, values and plan
  • Prior experience leading a team of HR operations in an FMCG environment
  • Ability to identify, understand and prioritize issues
About the role
Reporting to the COO, the General Manager People & Culture is central to the success of the business.  In this role you will be responsible for the leadership of HR Operations, but with a whole-of-business scope.  You will ensure effective and successful management of staff, productivity, and people & culture improvements to strategy, systems and process.
 
Responsibilities
  • Lead and model a positive attitude, professional conduct and unwavering commitment to quality outcomes and service delivery
  • Provide high level management supervision and support to staff
  • Provide regular updates and monthly reports
  • Lead internal meetings
  • Work with the COO to develop, maintain and review internal policies and procedures, ensuring they are up to date and conform with relevant laws, legislation, and regulations
  • Identify quality improvement processes and procedures
