FIP Group’s unparalleled expertise and engagement in the Pacific Australian Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme has extended beyond the provision of traditional employment and has included access to training and upskilling opportunities for our Pacific workforce.

FIP Group CEO Brad Seagrott explained, "It is rewarding to see our PALM Scheme workers arrive in Australia to learn relevant industry skills, and then formalise these through qualification. We know our people are going to be trained at industry standard, which, in return, develops each individual’sconfidence and a more productive employee. Our workers can proudly take their formalised skills back home."

Brad shared the three main aspects of FIP Group’s training opportunities for PALM Scheme workers:

Tailored Training for PALM Scheme Workers

FIP Group partners with several training providers who deliver programs that are carefully adapted to meet the specific needs of clients andworkers in their respective workplaces. Whether they work in manufacturing, meat works, horticulture or agriculture, childcare services, or other industries, the training is designed to make a tangible difference. FIP Group is proud to support over500 PALM Scheme workersannually who are diligently working towards completing their certificates.

A Path to Formal Qualifications

The cornerstone of these training programs is providing ourworkers with the opportunity to attain formal qualifications. With about 500 workers receiving certifications each year, many are now equipped with skills that are recognised at an industry standard. This not only boosts their confidence but also enhances their productivity in their respective roles.

“The PALM scheme is mutually beneficial. Obviously, the support that it provides to the Australian businesses in both rural and remote areas is extraordinary,” said Tom Reardon,FIP Group Executive Director.

Impact Beyond Borders

The benefits extend far beyond Australian shores. When PALM Scheme workers return to their home countries, they bring with them not only their work experience but also formal qualifications. FIP Group actively contributes to a ‘brain-gain’ among PALM Scheme countries, as workers return home with the core skills and capabilities to support their own community development. This not only contributes to their individual growth but also elevates the standards within their communities.

FIP Group’s commitment to improving the lives of PALM Scheme workers and fostering their personal and professional development is not just about workforce management,it's about creating a brighter future, one qualification at a time.
